Confidence & Self-Esteem
The use of Hypnosis has long been recognised as an excellent way of boosting confidence and self-esteem. These qualities are an essential part of our personality, they are what enable us to face the world and lead a functional and stable lifestyle. Confidence and self-esteem are often used interchangeably, but are very are different.
The word confidence comes from the Latin ‘Confidere’, meaning “to trust”. It is the feeling or belief that you can have faith in, or rely on, someone or something. Self-confidence is a feeling of being able to take action and have trust and belief in your own capabilities, judgement and ability to succeed.
Self-esteem is your overall sense of self-worth, a belief in your own ability, value and self-respect; something we all need.
You may think you are naturally self-conscious or anxious, but you weren’t born feeling that way – you have learned to feel that way – the good news is – it can also be ‘unlearned’. Those thoughts that have weakened your confidence and lowered your self-esteem can be replaced with more positive and constructive thoughts.
Lacking confidence makes people uncomfortable, so they become focused on what they perceive will go wrong, and are so busy painting a catastrophic picture of doom and gloom, that they fail to focus their attention on the present moment, wondering why things always seem to go wrong for ‘them’. Without breaking this downward self-destructing spiral, this pattern will continue.
A person, who is confident, calm and relaxed, will have their attention focused firmly on the moment, ensuring all their thoughts and efforts are directed at what is actually going on, this being far more effective than imagining negative consequences and outcomes. If you are confident and relaxed this will communicate itself to your audience, who will, in turn, respond by being relaxed and attentive; comfortable with the feeling that you are in control.
A confident person will perform well, achieve their goal, and feel satisfied with a job well done and content in the knowledge their efforts have been rewarded.
Imagine feeling calmer and more relaxed; imagine feeling really good about yourself, contented, confident and totally comfortable with the way you are.
Hypnotherapy can help you change negative thought processes and limiting beliefs, enabling you to let go of the self-doubts and anxieties that have been holding you back; creating a more positive self-image, changing your lifestyle and enabling you to achieve things that previously you would never have thought possible.
